Raveesh Mayya is an Assistant Professor of Technology, Operations, and Statistics at the New York University Stern School of Business, with deep interests in digital platform policies as well as in AI and Innovation. His research examines two forces reshaping the digital economy: (a) how digital platform policy changes create unintended consequences, and (b) how generative AI transforms knowledge work and collaborative innovation, including who it empowers and how reliably it performs.
His research has been published in the field’s premier journals: Management Science (Paper 1, Paper 2), Information Systems Research (Paper 1, Paper 2 forthcoming), and MIS Quarterly (Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 forthcoming).
His research has won or received multiple nominations for Best Paper awards at conferences such as WISE, ICIS, CIST, and AIM, as well as the ISR Best Reviewer of the Year 2024 and the Gordon B. Davis Young Scholar Award 2025. His work on delayed informed consent has been covered by ZDNet and IB Times, and his accelerator research was featured in the SEC’s 2025 OASB Capital Formation Staff Report.
He is the founding co-organizer of the Workshop on AI and Collaborative Innovation (WAICI). He serves on the Editorial Review Board of Information Systems Research and has served as Associate Editor for ICIS (2021-2025). He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Maryland.
